Research & Industry
R.V. College of Engineering has always had a tradition of Research and has carried out over 100 projects worth over Rs 30 Crores in the recent years. Now RVCE plans to rapidly expand its R&D footprint and be a Global leader in Quality Technical Education, Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship through interdisciplinary team work and an emphasis on technology for Sustainable and Inclusive Development.
R.V.C.E would be willing to collaborate in Research and Development activity right from Concept Development, to Initial Market Survey, development of a Proof of Concept, Testing and Verification, and even Low Volume Production. This could be ether a process technology, a device or a system. RVCE would also be willing to take up consultancy in any area of technology. RVCE welcomes collaborators / partners including industries, R & D labs, NGOs and academic institutes. RVCE is working on many new and innovative research areas. Just in the case of materials the activities include work on ceramics, conductors and semiconductors including amorphous semiconductors, polymers (conducting / semiconducting / bio compatible), composites (metallic and polymer based), Nanomaterials [ TiO2, nano magnetic particles, nanometals including gold and silver, nano carbons including (nano diamond, nano tables, nanoclusters, fibers, DLC, ta-C etc), and even biological materials. Even our students are also actively involved in innovative projects. This includes the recent India’s first Pico Satellite (less than 1 Kilogram class), Hybrid automobile vehicle, Unmanned Aviation Vehicles (UAV), robotics and racing cars.
The institution has many interdisciplinary teams working on a wide range of areas including:
- Novel Material
- Manufacturing Engineering and Process /Quality Optimization
- Sensors, Networks, Advanced Communication and Antennas
- Nano Materials, Vacuum nanoelectronics and Surface Engineering
- Data Mining / Data Warehousing or Business Intelligence
- Environment and Sustainable Technologies including novel construction materials, rain water harvesting, STP, energy efficient systems, biocompatible plastics and even environment friendly asbestos.
